Footwell Lighting
After a 924.org member suggested it, I decided to see if I could get footwell lighting into the 82 924.
This seemed like a very inexpensive upgrade that would give the 924 a modern "touch of class".

I had the materials that I needed lying around so I figured it was worth the time to give it a try!

Here is the light kit.  I am using the old license plate lights that were removed when I did the
rear lens panel upgrade. I also used two "piggyback" connectors (not shown).

Always the first thing when playing with electricity :)

I used "piggybacks" to connect with the rear hatch light.  This seemed "neater" than splicing into
the wires.  I am using the hatch light for simplicity.  It provides very easy access and all I have to
do is run the wire under the carpet/trim to the front of the car on the drivers side.

Wiring harness completed and lights tested by simply re-connecting the battery.

Originally, I was going to mount these on the lower portion of the center console but I couldn't bring myself
to cut into the console especially since I am still searching for a smaller lens.

I haven't gotten a good photo of the final position or the final effect but they are currently mounted just
behind the center console lying flat and facing the wheel wells.  They have not yet been permanently mounted.  If I decide to leave them in this position, I will fabricate a small bracket to hold them in permanent position.

The result is that the car now has footwell lighting.

The lights can't be seen and the effect is hardly noticeable when the dome light is on
but is clearly noticeable when the dome light is off.

(I will update this when I finalize the lights)
